bee have

the little bee.
he must have been sitting inside my rolly purse.
and when i lifted it up,
he fell onto the step.

by the time i got back with my canon
he was dying.
i suppose he stung my rolly purse -
bees die after they sting, don't they?

is it macabre to take close ups of a dying bee?
is this what they mean by -
'the sting had gone out of his tail'?

he is quite beautiful.
so intricately put together.

i had set my canon up with the remote capture
so i was able to steady the camera better
and take the shot
when it was as clear as it possibly could be
through my viewer
and my eye

seeing him this close
was amazing for me
and his wings
so strong

but oh my goodness
so beautifully delicate

in memory
of this little bee.

so to bed

so.  there i was in bed.  reading.
and over the pages i could see
all these patterns and textures.
and the mundane became interesting.
i started taking mental snap shots
and the crazy thing is that i couldn't help myself.
it was like i was seeing my stuff differently.

i just had to grab my canon.
and silly mental crazy woman thoughts
kept going through my head
but i couldn't think of
any good reason to not take photos.

close ups of duvet patterns.

small pillows cast to the empty side of the bed.

colour shots of titles and patterns.

different angles and shades.

water damaged bedside lamp bottom
and cheap dusty clock.

in colour and in monochrome.

and silly shots of old and new.
old wood grain and plastic frames
curly shades and lacey twirls
and bloody mobile phones

and portable phones and lamps alight
and bed end knobs
and aubergine walls

and i laughed
and wished that everyone
could look at their lives
this way
especially at bed time.

just take the meaningless overall picture
and chop it down to snap shots of this
and that.
some in colour.
some in monochrome.
some in focus.
some slightly blurred.
and you might just find
like i did
that it all makes
some crazy sense.

the sky is blue

okay.  this is my first attempt to capture the sky.  fail.
while the colour of the trees came out good -
i was aiming at the rays of the sun and the sky,
so yep, fail.

fail two.  yep that's the sky, but fail.

this is better.  but it is evening and this sky looks early afternoon.
fail.

shot!  no focus. but blue sky.  shot!

shot.  nothing but sky.  loved the low cloud just
leisurely creeping into view -
almost like it didn't want to be noticed -
like the perfect
photo bomb!

cauldron corner

apart from the moodiness of deeper darker colours -
trying to find a focus within the shot to give
some emotion of the shot is harder than it appears.

and i think that's my desire behind wanting to photogragh stuff.
like, i know it's just a black pot with stuff growing in it.
but there has to be a purpose behind it.
a desire from within wanting to be shown or expressed outside.

and it's trying to capture that desire in
one way or another
and that's not easy.
but that's the whole purpose of photos
isn't it?

pot shots

my canon is still getting the better of me.
i keep forgetting that my eye and my canon
will see things differently, especially where
light is concerned, as you can see.

but i am learning to adjust my canon
and i suppose in learning to adjust my canon
it only follows that my canon
is adjusting me

without perfection - just coming in closer
puts too much light on this - i.m.h.o
but in saying that - the closeup does have
it's own beauty

the second shot might be better technically?
who knows
but i think there's something in me that likes
dark broodiness...

cat-traits

apart from minute mites and spiders, she's my only subject.
she's a tad annoyed because she can't really see.
but i use that to my advantage
and sneak up on her.
beautiful 'cat-trait' i.m.h.o

i reckon these no shot shots are cool.

awww. now that's a cat-trait right there!

yep.  you see these cat shots
all the time.
but not of this cat.
i think its beautiful.

cat shots

yes. too much light.  very bright sunny day.  cat in lazy mood.
nice pose though.

i closed the eye thingy, the f thing.
i can see the difference it makes.
maybe i am learning to think like a canon?
i personally think this is perfect light.

i have cropped this one.  just to get in closer.
it does show her true colours.
captures her eye open slightly.
does she need a brush?

i don't like this shot.  it just looks crappy.
she looks crappy.  the grass looks crappy.
i opened the lens a bit more.
it just looks crap.
she needs a brush.

she got too hot.  so did i.  she got under a bush.
i had to lay on the ground.
 after one 'black'shot,
i realised i needed the light on!
i totally like the colours in this one.

intsi wintsi spider

a tripod for stillness is needed
only thing is you can't get this close
and the wind blew him right off his web
 close ups are awesome
but you can't see the minute
movement until you upload
 eggs on legs?
 dunno, just liked this one.
inside an open rose.
i like this one.

dark mood

how dark, light and colour
might change the mood of the photo.
not good with horizon.
less light. less focus on background.
 focus on legs of table.
better horizon.
more light. sharper focus on table.
flash.
